Ella & HARDY Drop a New One Together. Here's the Short Version.
'Never Met Anyone Like You' is the hardest song on Dandelion, and it's the song every country radio station tried to ignore for a week before giving in. Then HARDY teased a follow-up.
A quick one for the Wednesday rundown.
HARDY posted a 14-second voice memo on his Instagram last night with the caption "next one with @ellalangley loading." The clip is just rhythm guitar and a partial vocal — not enough to call it a song yet — but it's enough to confirm what we suspected since Dandelion dropped: "Never Met Anyone Like You" was the start, not the end.
What we know
- The voice memo is in the same key and tempo range as "Never Met Anyone Like You"
- It's clearly a duet, not a solo HARDY track
- No release date, no title
What we're guessing
- This drops as a single sometime between July and October — gives Ella a single to push during the back half of the Dandelion Tour
- The lyrical territory is darker than the first one. The voice memo has the word "burn" in it twice
- HARDY produces this one rather than Will Bundy. The aesthetic in the teaser matches HARDY's solo work more than Ella's Dandelion sonics
Why this matters
The Ella-and-HARDY pairing is the country-rock crossover thread that connects two of Nashville's most distinct voices right now. The first collab over-performed on streaming and under-performed at radio — radio programmers don't love the rock edge — a second one will tell us whether they care about the radio side at all or whether they're building a streaming-first lane together.
We'll update this page when there's official confirmation.
