What's in Ella Langley's Road Bag: Her Tour Must-Haves, Itemized
We spend a lot of time on this site telling you what to bring to an Ella Langley show. Yesterday we got the reverse angle: Billboard sat down with Ella and asked what she packs for life on the road, and her tour must-haves turned out to be one of the most relatable lists we've read from anyone running two tours at once. No mystery skincare regimen, no $400 headphones. A Bible, eye drops, jerky, lip balm, her own perfume, and her dogs.
The interview ran alongside a pretty wild setting, too. The Sunday before CMA Fest, Chase Sapphire Reserve put on "Dinner at the Opry" — an invite-only dinner served on the actual Grand Ole Opry stage, with food from Bastion (one of Nashville's only Michelin-starred restaurants) and a Tecovas boot-personalization suite. Ella flew in between tour stops and played three songs for the room: "Be Her," "Loving Life Again," and "Choosin' Texas."
The six tour must-haves on Ella's list
Here's the full list she gave Billboard, in her own words where it counts:
Her Bible. "I always travel with my Bible because it helps keep me centered when life gets hectic," she said. The specific one Billboard linked is a one-inch-thick ESV with a leather strap closure — built for a duffel bag, basically. Check it on Amazon.
Lumify eye drops. "I swear by Lumify eye drops, especially after long travel days," she said. "They instantly make me look more awake and refreshed." These have 67,000+ Amazon reviews, so Ella is not alone here. Check it on Amazon.
Chomps meat sticks. Her go-to bus snack: "high in protein and easy to throw in my bag." The flavor Billboard pointed to is, fittingly, Nashville Hot Chicken. Check it on Amazon.
Her own "Be Her" perfume. Made with the fragrance company NOYZ and sold at Ulta for $85 — violet, bergamot, and peonies over salted amber, a hint of tobacco, and tonka bean. "Having my own fragrance has always been a dream, and who doesn't want to smell good all the time?"
A pile of ChapStick. "I probably have 10 ChapSticks or lip glosses in my bag at a time," she admitted. The set Billboard linked is a six-pack of summer flavors. Check it on Amazon.
Crue and Bee. Her dogs travel with her: "They are my little pieces of home while on the road." No purchase link for this one, sorry.
The Bible at the top of the list surprises exactly nobody
If you've followed Ella this spring, her leading with her Bible tracks completely. Two days ago we wrote about the faith moment from her Railbird set going viral, and that was the second clip of its kind in a month. She told Billboard the quiet moments reconnecting with her faith are "something I really lean on while traveling." The woman onstage and the woman on the bus appear to be the same person, which is part of why we run this site at all.
Worth remembering what "hectic" means for her right now: she's headlining the Dandelion Tour and opening Morgan Wallen's stadium run at the same time, and per ABC News Radio, "Be Her" just held No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay for a second straight week — blocking Riley Green's "Change My Mind" at No. 2, of all songs. We covered the week it first hit No. 1 if you want the full chart story.
Build your own show-day kit
Half of Ella's list works just as well in the parking lot as it does on the bus — the eye drops, the protein snack, and the lip balm are basically our show-day starter pack — and our first-concert starter kit bundles the rest. If you're catching a date this summer, start with our Dandelion Tour survival guide, figure out what you're wearing, and check the remaining tour dates — the run wraps August 15 and a bunch of cities are already tight on seats.
And if you bump into Crue and Bee at a venue, you didn't hear it from us.
