Ella Langley x Shiner: Dandelion Honey Kolsch Beer

Ella Langley is getting her own beer. Shiner made it official Monday: the Texas brewery and Ella are launching a Dandelion Honey Kolsch, a signature brew named after the album that has owned our summer. Whiskey Riff and Billboard both carried the announcement, and the release date is one we already had circled for a very different reason — August 13, the same night Ella headlines Moody Center in Austin.

If you have watched the Choosin' Texas video even once, you knew this was coming. Shiner Bock is practically a cast member in it. Holler reported that Shiner told distributors it expected that video to be the biggest beer placement in a music video all of 2026 — and then spent late July teasing this collaboration with a "Born to live free" video before confirming what everybody guessed.

What the Dandelion Honey Kolsch actually is

Per Billboard, it is a kolsch-style beer brewed with dandelion honey — light, a little floral, the kind of thing you drink on an amphitheater lawn in August. Coverage of the announcement describes a label done in honey tones and covered in dandelions, pulling straight from the Dandelion album art. The album, for anyone keeping score at home, came out in April and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, so naming a beer after it is not exactly a marketing risk.

This is Ella's first beer partnership, and it is a two-way street: she gets a Texas institution stamping her name on shelves, and Shiner gets the artist whose fan base — Holler wrote a whole piece on this — spans both the women who hear themselves in her songs and, well, us. The Ella Fellas got name-checked in their analysis of why this deal makes sense. We will take it.

The launch party is in San Antonio on August 13

Per Whiskey Riff, the beer launches Thursday, August 13 with a free, denim-themed party at Otto's Ice House in San Antonio, running 6 to 9 PM — a DJ spinning Ella's catalog, local vendors, and a raffle. Nobody has billed Ella herself as appearing, which tracks, because she has an arena to play that night: Moody Center in Austin, about 80 miles up I-35, doors and set times here.

So if you are in central Texas that Thursday, you have a legitimately great problem. Hit the ice house early, raise a Dandelion Honey Kolsch, then decide whether you are staying for the raffle or pointing the truck north. (We know which one we would pick. The full tour schedule says she is in Corpus Christi the next night and Fort Worth the night after, so Texas has options all weekend.)

Why this deal is smarter than a novelty can

Artist beer collabs usually feel bolted on. This one does not, and the reason is the song. Choosin' Texas built its whole world around Texas iconography, Shiner included, months before any deal was announced — the brand was in the story before it was on the label. That is also why the timing works: the single crossed 15 weeks at number one on the Hot 100 in late July, per Billboard, and the beer arrives the same week her Texas arena run begins.

Our advice: if you find it on a shelf, grab it — and if you are headed to one of the Texas shows, the Amphitheater Lawn look pairs nicely with a cold one. We will report back on how it tastes.
