Ella Langley Had the Most-Streamed Song in America in the First Half of 2026

We've spent a lot of the last month talking about weeks at No. 1, and it's easy to lose the forest for the trees. So here's the forest: Luminate published its 2026 midyear report on Wednesday, and when you add up every on-demand audio stream in the United States from January 2 through July 2, the single most-streamed song in the country was "Choosin' Texas."

Not the most-streamed country song. The most-streamed song, full stop.

Billboard's Keith Caulfield laid out the numbers. "Choosin' Texas" pulled 570.9 million on-demand audio streams in the first six months of the year. Second place was Olivia Dean's "Man I Need" at 340.2 million. That's a gap of 230 million streams between No. 1 and No. 2 — Ella nearly doubled the field. And she isn't only at the top of that list: "Be Her" sits at No. 4 with 289.1 million, which means two of the ten most-streamed songs in America right now are hers.

The album side is nearly as good. Dandelion finished the half at No. 2 on Luminate's top albums ranking with 1.638 million equivalent album units, behind only Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem at 2.035 million. Worth remembering that Dandelion came out April 10 — Wallen's record has been out since May of last year. Ella did that in under three months of tracking.

One more that we found genuinely surprising: on the midyear radio ranking, which measures raw audience impressions across every format Luminate monitors, "Choosin' Texas" came in at No. 5 with 1.420 billion impressions. Country songs don't usually crack the all-format radio top five, because country radio is a smaller pie than pop radio. This one crossed over.

What we like about the Luminate report is that it's the least arguable version of the story. Weekly charts move around, and there's always someone in the replies explaining why a given week doesn't count. A six-month total doesn't have that problem. Half a year of listening, every platform, everybody's music, and the song at the top is a country song by a girl from Hope Hull, Alabama.
